Harakeke is a privately owned Early Childhood Education Centre for 2 to 5 year old children situated between Motueka and Upper Moutere in the idyllic countryside of the Tasman District.

Why 'Harakeke'?

Harakeke is the name given to the native New Zealand lily by Māori. The first European settlers called it 'Flax'.

For us it's a symbol of family, community, nurturing and learning together.

Hutia te rito o te harakeke
Kei hea te kōmako e ko
Ki mai ki ahau
He aha te mea nui i te ao
Māku e ki atu
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
